"Coach James has been my trainer since middle school. He’s supported me physically, mentally, and emotionally, and most of all, he taught me what it means to be both a competitive athlete and a person. His background is filled with tons of experience and knowledge that he has shared with me over the course of my five years of knowing him. One thing I love about James is that he is able to demonstrate every drill and exercise he is trying to implement into my game. This is because his outlook on the game is filled with competence and confidence. He always has a smile on his face and his passion is infectious. James gives me and his players, a plethora of tools and opportunities to find what success looks like to them."

Natalie was the first player to join Volley Method training and stuck with us from the very beginning. Her dedication to training and attention to detail is everything a coach could ever ask for. The growth we have seen in this young athlete has been tremendous and we can not be more proud of all her accomplishments.

Kahea Moruwaki

University of Hawaii at Manoa, Libero/DS 2025- Present

"I have been training with James for four years through both private sessions and his libero clinics. What sets him apart as a coach is his attention to detail. He notices the smallest technical adjustments that have elevated my game to the next level. We spent time reviewing film, breaking down my form, and then getting in the gym to put that work into action.
James also cares about more than just volleyball. He emphasizes the importance of mental health, nutrition, and recovery, which I’ve realized are just as important for performance as skill work. He especially helped me in serve receive by teaching me how to let go of mistakes and stay locked in on the next ball.
I’ve really enjoyed every session with James, and he’ll always be one of the coaches I trust and turn to."

Kahea has been with us for several years working in our clinics and private training. Kahea is the kindest and most humble player you will meet. Her fearlessness is what separates her from many liberos and allows her to make some incredible plays. Her attention to detail and coachability has allowed her to excel over the years and we cannot be more proud of her accomplishments
